| My name is Michele and I volunteer for Great Dane Rescue. I love Great Danes and grew up with them. My son wanted a dog as soon as he could say the word. Of course we had to get a Dane. I did a google search for "Great Danes" and was shocked to see how many Great Dane Rescue websites were on the search results. I contacted my local rescue and adopted a not so adoptable (Heartworm positive, older Dane) named Daphne! My son and I fell in love with her and my life has revolved around rescue ever since. About 1 year later, we adopted another Great Dane, named Roscoe. You can "meet" Roscoe & Daphne through their photos at the top of the website. Roscoe is to the left sporting his red doggles and goofy personality. Daphne is to the right showing off her favorite fleece ball toy.

| Update:
I'd like to thank all of my customers for your kind words and support on the loss of our Great Dane, Daphne. For those of you that do not know we lost our beautiful Daphne to nasal osteosarcoma September 15th 2008. Daphne was my heart dog and my son Chandler, Roscoe (our other Dane) and I will never be the same without her. Daphne was used by her previous owners for breeding. When she could no longer produce pups for her owners they dumped her in a shelter. She had the worst case of heart worms a dog could have. She was 6+ years when we adopted her from Central Florida Great Dane Rescue. Daphne was 10, possibly 11 years old when we lost her to cancer. You can see our Daphne here:

A few months later we added our new 'wild child' Avalanche (a/k/a Ava). Ava is a deaf Great Dane. I have taught Ava sign language and she is doing wonderful.
April 2010 we added another deaf Dane. His name is Romeo. Romeo's name says it all. He is a sweet, loving, extremely calm/laid back Dane.
